Bartington Fluxgate

Bartington Fluxgate
New-Sense Geophysics uses the Bartington Mag-03 fluxgate magnetometer on its helicopter and fixed-wing geophysical surveys. The 3-axis directional magnetometer is critical to making accurate magnetic compensation on surveys.
Key Features of Bartington Mag-03 Fluxgate Magnetometer:
- Orthogonal Sensor Arrangement: The Bartington Mag-03 magnetometer boasts three sensors arranged orthogonally (x, y, z), providing a comprehensive solution for measuring static and alternating magnetic fields with utmost precision.
- Versatile High-Performance Sensor: This fluxgate magnetometer operates across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +70°C) and delivers reliable, high-performance measurements in three axis. Its versatility makes it ideal for capturing magnetic fields ranging from picoteslas (pT) to milliteslas (mT).
- Low Noise Levels: The Mag-03 sensor is engineered with low noise levels, ensuring exceptional accuracy in magnetic field measurements. This feature makes it suitable for high-precision applications where precise data is crucial.
- Tail or Helicopter Stinger Mounting: New-Sense strategically mounts the fluxgate magnetometer, either on the tail or helicopter stinger, in close proximity to the main magnetometer. This positioning ensures capturing the relative motion and changing magnetic field strength of the aircraft, facilitating accurate compensation with the Figure of Merit (FOM).
- Integrated Data Sampling at 50Hz: The Mag-03 fluxgate magnetometer operates at a sampling rate of 50Hz, providing a wealth of high-frequency data. This data is seamlessly integrated with magnetic and GPS information through the New-Sense’s Integrated Data Acquisition System (IDAS), ensuring a comprehensive and accurate dataset.
- FOM Compensation for Accuracy: To enhance precision, the Mag-03 fluxgate magnetometer aids in capturing the changing magnetic field of the aircraft, allowing for accurate compensation using the Figure of Merit (FOM).
