Chile is a long and narrow country situated along the western edge of South America, stretching from the Atacama Desert in the north to the southern tip of Tierra del Fuego. From the high peaks of the Andes (~6500 meters above sea level) to the coastal plains and southern fjords, Chile’s topography plays a significant role in shaping its cultural, economic, and environmental characteristics.

Chile has a well-established and regulated aviation industry. Pilots operating in the country are typically well-trained and experienced.
