L1/L2 GPS System

New-Sense Geophysics utilizes L1/L2 GPS receivers, primarily the Novatel Active L1/L2/L5/L-Band GPS and L1/L2 GLONASS Antenna, complemented by the OEM628 Triple-Frequency + L-Band GNSS receiver, for airborne navigation and data acquisition.

Key Features of New-Sense Geophysics’ L1/L2 GPS System:

  1. High Precision Antenna: The Novatel Active L1/L2/L5/L-Band GPS and L1/L2 GLONASS Antenna provide exceptional precision in location and timing. This high-performance antenna is a standard feature across all our surveys, ensuring consistency and  reliability in every geophysical exploration.
  2. Triple-Frequency + L-Band GNSS Receiver: The OEM628 Triple-Frequency + L-Band GNSS receiver processes signals from multiple frequencies, offering superior accuracy and compatibility. This advanced receiver computes precise position locations, setting the stage for unparalleled data collection.
  3. Global Compatibility: New-Sense’s GPS equipment is compatible with current GNSS, GPS, and GLONASS networks, as well as upcoming systems like Galileo, Compass, and BeiDou. This global compatibility empowers New-Sense Geophysics to operate worldwide with the highest level of accuracy.
  4. Multi-Constellation Flexibility: Our GPS system allows the utilization of a mix of satellite networks, maximizing constellation size for optimal coverage across diverse geographical locations.
  5. High Sampling Rate: GPS data is collected and sampled at an impressive 10Hz or 20Hz, a significant advancement compared to the industry-standard 1Hz option. This higher sampling rate not only enhances the precision of GPS position data but also contributes to the creation of smoother and more user-friendly navigation systems within our iDAS platform.
  6. Exceptional Accuracy: The accuracy of our L1/L2 antenna typically ranges from 1-2m, surpassing industry norms. For those who demand even higher precision, optional DGPS services provide accuracy in the remarkable range of 0.15-0.25m. This represents a significant improvement as compared to traditional L1 antennas/receivers offering +/-10m at 1Hz.
